What are you willing to put up with to succeed?

Are you willing to give a piece of your soul everyday, just one more day, just one more project and then you will finally feel that you have succeeded?  When you look at all that you have achieved for your employer, but you still feel unappreciated and you look around at others who receive recognition without hardly trying?  You sit there and ask yourself, why is it that what I seek doesn’t feel fulfilling where I am at?  This is the moment you realize you have reached a closed door.  You know you need to do something about it to get back your power.

You know that you deserve better, you see what others have gotten for the same work and yet your just rewards are still not coming?  It might be a fair pay, it might be the right kind of recognition, and it might be the feeling that you can stand up for yourself and tell others how you should be treated.

You first need to get a clear understanding of what you deserve , what you want for yourself, and how to find your backbone.  Then you can plan what that looks like for you.  You will start to have the feelings of happiness when you free your soul for what is yours.  It is yours for the taking, when you decide to take a chance on yourself.

It is better to try something else and fail than to not try at all, or worse be stuck in what seems like your own personal hell.

You teach people how to treat you by what you allow, that is to be told what is good for you, instead of deciding for yourself.  You know what is right for you and your career success.  You have all the answers inside of you.  This is the realization of your power to decide for yourself.  Stop being what others think you should be.  Make your own choices that make you happy in life.  In this life we have only one life to live, it is time to start living it.  There are no rewards for enduring bad situations that eat away at your inner peace and your soul.  Finally, you must reinforce what you have decided and don’t let others change what you have decided for yourself by giving up.

There is light at the end of the tunnel?

I know when you are facing a difficult road and are stressed out about work, taking it home with you and can’t seem to escape the feeling of constantly having to be on call feels like.  I have been there too!  This really starts to take a toll on you when you carry your work around with you 24-7.  How come you can’t get yourself caught up and there is always more to do, more expectations, and what seems like a long road to feeling like you got this?

This is where you need to stop for a minute and evaluate how this feeling got to this point. When you internalize your experiences and only see the negative in your experience, it’s hard to see the solutions to help you navigate to the light at the end of the tunnel.

How are you doing at time management?  I am guessing not so good right now, but what can you do to turn it around?  This is the million dollar question, we all face when we let things pile up and get out of control right?  What are your time management habits?  Do you have daily, weekly, and monthly planning check-ins for yourself to stay on track?  Who are you accountable to when completing your major projects?  Do you meet with that person on a regular basis to make sure that you are meeting their expectations and prioritizing appropriately?  These are the questions that come to mind to help you take an objective view of what is on your plate right now.

As a manager, we have to think about the workload we are currently carrying and what makes good use of your time as a manager.  Should you be spending 2 hours a day approving data, or do you have a supervisor that can be developed and delegate this task to?  There are probably some other tasks that you have taken in your role, that just don’t make sense anymore.  This forces us to ask if there is value in everything that you are doing?  Are you the go to person for more than you should be, just because you know all the answers?  The only way this can be rectified is to be less available when they call you at all hours, or talk directly to their immediate supervisor to get this resolved.  Can you imagine all the time an peace of mind that you will get back after this is taken care of? Then you can really focus on what you need to as your priorities and spend less time on stuff that shouldn’t be taking up all your time.

I could go on and on about draining resources and finding solutions to each of these problems, but what I would really like you to focus on first is your mindset while you are at work and what methods you are using to better manage your time.  When  you start having those feelings of dread at work, write them down so we can talk about the feelings behind them.  Once you start identifying these negative feeling thoughts, you can be clued into your sub-conscience thoughts and get to the bottom of what’s driving your negative thoughts, correct them and focus on elevating your energy for positive thoughts instead.  There is light at the end of the tunnel and it starts by you shifting your mindset from overwhelm and defeatism to refusing to let it beat you and taking control of what you can change to make it better.

You are going to have that beautiful destination at work when you get this figured out and be able to find the positive in every situation.

What do you see when you look at this picture?

I guess it would be fair to ask when you are day dreaming looking at this picture, what do you see?  Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  Do you get lost in the waves of the Bay?  Do you notice the debris on the beach? Do you notice the wispy clouds that are just floating there in the bright blue sky.  Does it make you feel happy, peaceful, or full of gratitude in it’s beauty?

If you walked this beach, where would you envision it taking you?  Can you envision challenge, inspiration, creativity, beauty, or something different in your future?

Now if you lost yourself daydreaming, do you tend to think positively about your future or more about what you need to change to find your happiness?  If you are feeling lost or stuck, it may be more about your ego protecting you from making a mistake that will lead to more unhappiness.

Then you may find yourself sorting out your life’s purpose and trying to find your happiness.  This may leave you evaluating every aspect of your life to try to feel better.  There are many things in your life that you can find to be grateful about, like your family and friends that have always been there to support you.   In fact, you have had a great career success run, but still you are feeling like you need to become a better version of yourself to fulfill your life’s purpose.  So where do you turn to?  You look at new jobs, you talk to other respected and successful colleagues that seem to have it all, or start reading and researching for yourself on the internet.

You might even look at your relationships, you try to find all the good in your life and separate from that which is no longer serving you.  While sorting and re-organizing all things in your life, you might even try to get better organized and remove clutter your home and life to make room in your life for the new version of yourself.  Releasing any negative energy can also make room for the new version of yourself.  Some may see this as extreme behaviors, but you are at that point in your life and career where you need to level-up and become the best version of yourself.

This need and desire to be the best version of yourself may lead you to do some soul searching.  There are many ways to approach this type of self learning.  You might consider a soul adventure for a few days, which teaches you about spiritual connection to your higher self, getting your chakra reading for energy blocks, or dealing with painful experiences by throwing rocks to release anger.  This allows you to focus on what doesn’t feel right in your life, body and on what weights you down.  If you are carrying emotional baggage, you will learn to peal away all the years of feeling you need to hide your feelings to avoid conflict and feel like you can start facing your fears head-on.

You may discover some deep-seeded anger issues that you will have to let go of from life experiences by using the rock throwing technique.  After freeing yourself from the heavy baggage, you may discover you don’t know how to love yourself like you should, but need to learn how to again.  You ask yourself, where did you forget how to do this and when did this change?  Learning to love yourself more will give you the courage and confidence to face your fears.

There are more steps to getting your mindset ready for the new way of thinking and leveling-up to fully express your soul’s purpose.  How can you begin the process?  You can reach out to someone who has gone through it and learn how to attract all that your soul desires, once you learn to recognize your subconscious mindset.  This process of changing your mindset can be done in just 8 weeks; where you will learn all the tools you need for success.   All you have to do is reach out to me on messenger, leave me a message below in comments and provide the best contact method.

What are you willing to sacrifice to feel better?

If you don’t make any changes, you will not change how you are feeling.  The life you are living is yours and yours alone.  Don’t live it to please everyone around you!  If you find yourself to be the people pleasing kind, then this message is for you.

If you are finding yourself stuck in your career or relationship, consider this to ponder; what makes YOU happy?  What do you like about them and what don’t you like?  When focusing on what you want or don’t want in this experience, have you considered what your life’s purpose is? We typically ask this question when we feel stuck and confused in our career or relationship and feel the need to figure out our life’ purpose.

What Is Your Life’s Purpose?

When you feel happy about life and love and are enjoying it in the moment, I think you have found your life’s purpose – to be happy.

Discovering your life’s purpose is self-work that you will need to do on your own. It’s a soul-search adventure of sorts. It may take some meditation and connection with your higher self to complete this task. We are all spiritual beings, having a human experience. You will need to master both mental and physical life experience to find prosperity and your life’s purpose. This is the definition of true wealth. Our experience in a material world, is merely a reflection of our inner happiness. This is when we experience a feeling of overwhelming love and when our soul is expressing our life’s purpose through love, joy, and gratitude. Once we have achieved this happiness, we can not only find our happiness, but will be in a better place to just be.  The importance of the focus on happiness is to remember that where intention goes, energy flows. Meaning, if your attention is just on pleasing others, you may not find the happiness that goes with it. Happiness is a big part of life’s meaning, so let’s shift focus to finding your life’s purpose.

Your life’s purpose is not a thing to be defined, it is a state of being. It is not a what, it is a how. You are living your life’s purpose by being you and by expressing your soul’s purpose through happiness. Our life’s lessons are about learning how to create and express our soul’s purpose through its uniqueness. Further, there is a difference between your life’s purpose, your soul, and your ego’s intention. So, while your life’s purpose is to be happy and allow this energy to flow through you, the human experience is to figure out how the soul and the ego’s intentions can work together. Your soul has gifts and intention. The ego’s intention is survival and safety. Its natural behavior is to protect you from being eaten. So, it learns to adapt to the environment.  You may limit your happiness by being trapped in the fears created by your ego, to keep yourself safe.  You may also limit your potential for true happiness in the process, so you need to learn when ego has taken over and is controlling your actual success at feeling happy.

Your ego will begin to allow fears to surface as a result of your new awareness of the subconscious thought patterns.  When you learn to identify the fears as you take steps to finding your true happiness, you will uncover who you are and what you are meant to be – your individualism. I find it helpful to write in a journal about your specific situation that makes you feel stuck or unable to move forward towards your happiness.

Your ability to find your happiness depends on a variety of factors, one being awareness of your feelings around the experience. How does your heart feel about this obstacle?  Can you identify any feelings of freedom, love, or joy around what you are doing or experience in your career or relationship? These pure forms of feeling are how your soul expresses its purpose.

When meditating you might ask yourself, “What would I do if I knew I could not fail”? Repeat this in your mind several times as you sink into meditation mode. When you finish the meditation, take a moment to jot down the ideas that came to you. If you are new to meditation techniques, you can find lots of information on the Internet, including meditation music and binaural beats, to help you get started. The benefits will be rewarding.

Today, I want to help you to find your happiness and discover your life’s purpose. I know that you have heard the saying that there’s a silver lining in every situation. That is, if you are able to look at your situation with an outsider’s perspective, there is an opportunity you are being faced with right now at this crossroads on your life’s journey. Which path are you going to take? The one less traveled, to greatness, or the worn-out path you may continue to cycle through until you are ready to make the leap?

Another helpful step is to make your declaration of happiness and remind yourself of it by putting it out to the Universe and writing it down.  When you are in a state of gratitude about the happiness you have all around you will begin to attract similar happiness in other areas of your life.   Do the work to clear away the disbelief and make the commitment to yourself and your future to believe in yourself. Next, you need to take action and figure out how to remove any obstacles in your way. So, what are you waiting for? What do you want? Dream big, because your dreams don’t need to be realistic, they just need to be yours from within!

After you have done the work and have a clearer vision for your life’s purpose and happiness, you need to stay true to yourself and surround yourself with all that serves you in this purpose.  This may be a difficult process for some, but when you figure it out and it all makes sense, you will be well on your way to living your life’s purpose and achieving your happiness.

You think you are protecting yourself from failure?

You know you have some really great ideas about starting your own business.  You have worked so hard in the last few years and are tired of the being a resource for someone else’s businss.  You might be thinking, I know how I would do this differently.  Hell, your manager and all the company clients call you instead of scheduling through the office.  What does this tell you?  You must be really great at what you do, right?  Damn straight!

You keep kicking yourself for not spending the time to plan out your next steps.  There has been an aweful lot of talk, talk, and more talk about starting your own business. Blah, blah, blah…

Sounds like you are talking the talk, but not walking the walk.  What do I mean by that? Well, if you were really walking the walk, you would have done more research, checked into writing your business plan and have some clue about who your ideal clients would be.  You would know how much money you need to get on your feet, have a little free cashflow for the start-up and even a 1 and 5 year plan ready to go, right?

What the heck are you waiting for?  You need the push or maybe the final kick in the pants, to just do it!  You know I am talking about you now.  What do you have to say for your lack of action now?  I know there is a big couragious lion in there waiting to pounce on this opportunity, but if you wait too long it will literally pass you by.  You will be watching someone else fulfill your dream job or business, while you sit there again and keep asking yourself why did’nt I just invest a little money in myself to get the kick in the pants I need, working with a career coach, to get you moving?

This scenario is like the next million dollar idea, the next successful company, or the next career professional who takes companies by storm and rocks their performance from underperforming to continual improvement year over year!  That’s YOU!

Make today more productive than yesterday!

Look around you, who is in your circle of influence?

If you are trying to have a positive mindset and work towards your goals, then you better have a look around you.  Who do you hold company with?  You should be holding company with people above you in success so that you can be around their positive energy and being.  If all you do is hang out with buddies from school or work, you may be limiting yourself to mediocrity.  If you want to be like the business woman or man making 6 to 8 figures, then you need to start watching twhat they are doing.

Ask yourself, who is doing what you want to do and doing it well?  Who is your role model?  Look at what they are doing and figure out their strategy.  You will need to layout your plan for the next 90 days and be consistent with your steps each day.

Things that successful and influencial people are doing, that you should emulate:

  • Mind feed – Reading the business section of the paper to find out what successful companies are doing and what is being written about their success.  This should be at least 30 mintues per day.
  • Spend time strategic thinking – thinking about how to grow your business or career horizontally and vertically.  How much do you want to make each month, who are you going to do it for, and how many clients do you need to have to make that much?
  • Invest in yourself and business relationships – Take on a career coach to get your map and goals down in writing and start working on the 3 – 4 steps for each goal.  I start with 6 goals for the next 12 months.
  • Maximize your process and procedures for consistency.  Are you going to have people working for you?  If so, how much time you going to spend training them and them training others?
  • What does your time management look like in your business or career?  Are you using tools to organize your productivity for the day, a to-do list or planner with priorites?  Do you have timelines for the tasks?
  • Lead conversation – who are you talking to about your business and or to advance your career?  If your boss doesn’t know what you want to do, you are basically waiting on them to lead you.  This is not what a good leader does, you need to lead your boss down the road you want to go and look for opportunities to get there.
  • Virtual assistance – If you get so busy in your day, who is going to handle client follow-up questions, scheduling the next jobs, or making the sales calls?  You may think about hiring virtual assistance so that you better use your time for growing the business.
  • Define your profit indicators and know your numbers.  What is your advertising doing for you, how are you performing in your career against your leader’s expectations?  Do you have regular meetings and or review of the business or job indicators?

Just like you want to be developed, your people want the same.  What is your development plan in the next 12 months for personal growth and what are your employees aspirations for development?  As a business owner, you need to be investing in your skillset and tools to make your time management more productive and lead you to more business.  As a career professional, you need to think about each year in your career as if moving up the ladder or accomplishing the goals you have set within the organization.

Then on a personal note, how do you measure up to other leaders on leadership knowledge.  Are you someone your employees would aspire to be or that your co-workers would say good things about?  Have you accomplished enough in the last 10 – 15 years or are you light on accomplishments.  In the next 15 – 20 years, you will want to look back at your accomplishments with no regrets.  Did you get done what you wanted to accomplish or are you thinking you could have done a lot more?  I can tell that from personal experience as a career professional, you need to have ambitious goals for personal satisfaction.  If you don’t have this, you may find yourself wishing  you had just done more.
